Senior Engineer Simployer · Stockholm · Full-time About the role As a Senior Engineer, you'll own the technical direction of your team's domain. You'll decide where the boundaries go, how services communicate, and how we know that what we ship works with the rest of the platform. You'll work in an autonomous team where you're trusted to shape the architecture, not just deliver on a spec. What you'll do Define, evolve and defend domain boundaries, aggregates and bounded contexts using domain-driven design, and make sure the model reflects how the business actually works. Design, build and operate event-driven flows in production, from event modelling and schema design to monitoring, failure handling and recovery. Introduce and maintain consumer-driven contract testing in CI so that teams can change their services with confidence that shared interfaces still hold. Investigate architectural alternatives, make decisions, and document and justify them (for example through ADRs), on your own initiative rather than waiting for a specification. Form and communicate a view on where your domain's architecture should go over the next year or two, and bring colleagues along with you. Pick up new technologies and patterns when the problem calls for it and take them all the way into production. What we're looking for Recent, hands-on experience applying domain-driven design in production systems, including owning decisions on boundaries and aggregates. Experience building and running event-driven architecture in production, not just consuming events built by others. A modern approach to testing, including practical experience with contract testing (e.g. Pact or similar) as part of a CI pipeline. A track record of making and owning architectural decisions independently, including in situations where requirements were unclear. Evidence that you learn new technology on your own and apply it in real work, without needing formal training or central guidance.
