At EA, we believe games are powerful because they bring together multiple ways people engage: play, watch, create, and connect. And increasingly, the biggest entertainment platforms aren't just places to consume content — they're places where communities build. Creator-made content is already a proven part of EA's history — from community creation tools in Battlefield to The Gallery in The Sims 4. We believe new creative technologies and tools will expand how players engage with and contribute to our experiences, supported by thoughtful product design, safety systems, and global reach. Our focus is on enabling more players to participate in creative expression by making creation easier, safer, and more rewarding. We are looking for a Senior Audio Software Engineer to join our Research & Engineering team exploring the frontiers of audio content creation and next-generation experiences powered by AI. We are a diverse team of engineers, researchers, and designers aiming to make audio content creation faster, more controllable, and more expressive. As a Senior Audio Software Engineer, you will bring your expertise in game engines and audio middleware to brainstorm and implement next-generation audio solutions for sound effects, voice and music. You will identify where AI can solve production challenges and translate ideas into working tools. We are looking for someone grounded in game audio, curious about what's next, embracing uncertainty, and motivated to push the boundaries of audio technologies. This is a hybrid remote/in-office role: 3 days/week at our EA office in Stockholm, Sweden. You will report to our Audio research lead. Responsibilities: Explore new frontiers and push beyond the current state of audio content creation. pipelines and real-time audio systems, for next-generation experiences powered by AI. Partner with researchers, engineers, and designers. Bring new ideas, discuss, and implement solutions to some of the most complex audio content creation challenges in video games. Author and evaluate audio assets while providing applicable feedback. Develop tools and workflows that help audio creators iterate faster, making neural audio tech controllable, practical, and pipeline-aligned. Evaluate and integrate audio solutions where they complement or extend engine capabilities, bringing your expertise to identify the right tool for the problem. Build compelling demos that showcase novel applications of AI-driven audio. Qualifications: 7+ years of experience in game audio development with shipped AAA game titles, including experience with AAA game engines (e.g., Frostbite, Unity, Unreal, Godot, or proprietary) Expertise in real-time audio systems, content pipelines, and the technical constraints of audio in AAA games, including audio middleware such as Wwise or FMOD. Experience integrating external tools into game engines (e.g. middleware, third-party libraries, or ML inference). Advanced experience with C++ for real-time systems and good programming skills in Python for ML applications. Comfort working in ambiguous, exploratory problem spaces — defining direction independently while collaborating with a diverse team. A genuine interest in AI-driven audio technologies. Experience running inference or fine-tuning ML models is a plus. Artistic background or sensibility developed for high-fidelity audio. We are a diverse, goal-driven team that offers real influence and autonomy to every member.
