English

Laki Power, based in Reykjavík, develops a range of LKX products for monitoring high-voltage transmission lines, built on a patented power-harvesting technology that draws energy from the line. We have customers across four continents and closed a Series A round in September 2026 led by the NATO Innovation Fund. We are looking for a robotics software engineer to join the team developing the LKX-DRONE and contribute across its software, from the onboard operating system and flight stack to computer-vision-based docking and the mission-planning software that runs the drones on the grid. The LKX-DRONE is a drone-based monitoring system for power grids, built to fully automate tower inspection, preventive maintenance, post-storm inspection, wildfire surveillance and security reconnaissance. We did extensive prototype testing in 2026, including docking on a live 220 kV line, and are now redesigning it for a commercial launch in 2027. Your role • The onboard operating system, flight stack and image-capture software. • Computer-vision-based navigation for precision docking. • Development of mission-planning and fleet-orchestration software. • Testing in simulation and in the field. Qualifications • A degree in computer science or engineering, or equivalent experience. • Experience with software development for embedded systems in robotics or drones. • Experience with computer vision. • Experience with drone development is a big plus. • Able to work independently and take ownership, while being a strong team player. • Ability to communicate in English in a professional setting. Our team We are focused on building a team that is diverse in age, gender and fields of expertise, and we welcome applicants of every background. If this role excites you, we’d love to hear from you — even if you don’t tick every box. Do you want to help keep the power on? Further information Hlynur Atli Magnússon – [email removed]
