With operations across eight European markets and global expansion underway, we enable transport operators to electrify their fleets with confidence and long-term profitability.   Role Summary   As a Senior Backend Developer, you will play a key role in building and evolving Erinion Connect, our cloud-native Charging Management System (CMS) for smart charging and energy management in commercial transport.  Working closely with Product, Engineering, Analytics and Applied AI teams, as well as a strategic technology partner, you will design and deliver scalable backend services, integrations and cloud-native solutions that support Erinion's growth.  We're looking for an experienced engineer who combines strong backend expertise with architectural thinking. AI-assisted development tools are part of our daily workflow, but we value engineers who can independently drive technical decisions and build robust, scalable systems.  This is a backend-first role, with approximately 70% of the work focused on platform and integration engineering and the flexibility to contribute across the stack when needed.  Job Responsibilities Build and enhance backend services using Python and Node.js/TypeScript.  Design scalable APIs, integrations, and event-driven architectures.  Develop solutions for smart charging, energy management, and fleet platforms.  Integrate Erinion Connect with TMS, FMS, ERP, and telematics systems.  Contribute to platform architecture and long-term product evolution.  Support React-based frontend development when needed.  Use AI-assisted development tools to accelerate software delivery. Who You Are 5+ years of experience in backend software engineering.  Strong experience with Python and/or Node.js (TypeScript).  Experience designing and building cloud-native applications on AWS.  Solid understanding of software architecture, distributed systems and integration patterns.  Experience with PostgreSQL, DynamoDB and cloud storage solutions.  Experience building REST APIs, microservices and event-driven systems.  Ability to make sound technical and architectural decisions independently.  Experience using AI-assisted coding tools in day-to-day development.  Fluent English.  Nice to have  React experience.  Java experience.  Experience with TMS, FMS, ERP or telematics integrations.  Knowledge of OCPP, OCPI or EV charging technologies.  Experience with TimescaleDB.  Startup or scale-up experience.  We welcome applicants from all backgrounds – your unique experience and perspectives is valuable to us.  Core Technology Stack Languages: Python, Node.js, TypeScript, Java,  Frontend: React  Cloud & Infrastructure:  AWS (Lambda, API Gateway, SQS, Step Functions, EventBridge, Cognito, S3), CloudFormation, Docker, GitLab CI  Databases:  PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, S3, TimescaleDB (nice to have)  Architecture & Integration:  REST APIs, Microservices, Event-driven Architecture, WebSockets  AI Tooling:  Claude Code, Codex, AI-assisted Development Why join Erinion?
